Studio policies

The fine print, made simple.

Registration fee

There is a $30.00 registration fee per family, per year, due upon registering. This fee helps cover the cost of setting up your dancer's information, paperwork, notes, and billing for the year. This fee is non-refundable.

Lesson payment

All lesson payments are due the first lesson of each month. Prices are pro-rated and the same each month — it is a monthly charge, not by the lesson, so there's no additional charge in five-lesson months and no discount in three-lesson months.

There is a $7.00 late fee on accounts not paid by the 15th of the month.

Payment options

Credit cards: we accept all credit cards, and you can leave a card on file for us to run each month.

Cash: receipts are given for cash payments.

Checks: please put the month of payment and your student's name on the check. There is a payment drop box in the office. Returned checks are handled by a collection agency.

Dance attire

Dancers must have proper dance attire for class — the body is our instrument, and we must be able to see it to make proper corrections. The basics are a black tank leotard, black biker shorts, and ballet pink tights. These are used at show time (Winter Showcase and spring shows) but don't need to be worn to class each week; any style or color of dance clothes is fine for class.

Dancers need pink ballet shoes and black tap shoes. Dancers in 3rd grade and older also need beige dance paws. Other tights and basics may be needed for shows and will be decided closer to show time.

Visitors

No visitors are allowed in the dance studios — we want to avoid any distraction to your child's lesson. You're welcome to our large waiting area, and if you have a question about your child's progress, please talk to the teacher.

Shows

Our show each year is an integral part of your dance training — the most effective of all dance activities in building self-esteem and confidence, and the highlight of our year. There are costs involved in being in the show; it is optional, but we highly recommend all dancers participate. Preparations begin in January, when cost and payment information goes out.

Parking

Please use the parking created just for Tueller School of Dance, and don't double park or wait in the right of way — the safety of our young dancers is paramount. The rest of the lot is a booting zone: read and obey all signs, and never park in the middle of the lot, even if it's late or empty.

Holidays

No class on Labor Day, Fall Break, Thanksgiving, or Memorial Day. The studio is closed for Christmas and Spring Break. If class won't be held on other days, dancers will be notified.

Valuables & liability

Please don't bring or wear valuable things to dance class — we can't be responsible for lost items or property left in the waiting room, the studio, or the building's public front hall.

Dancing is a physical activity requiring good health. If you have any doubt about your student's physical abilities, please consult a physician before participating, and inform the instructor of any physical limitations before classes start. Students may decline to participate in any activity. Tueller School of Dance is not liable for personal injuries during regular class participation.
